Faith That Moves Mountains

In Mark 11:22–25, Jesus gives His disciples a bold instruction: “Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

At first glance, this sounds impossible. How can anyone move a mountain? But Jesus was teaching about the “mountains” of life—the obstacles that seem immovable, the situations that appear beyond our strength.

Today, across the UK, the Church faces such a mountain. Congregations are shrinking, buildings are closing, and society is drifting from its Christian roots. These challenges feel heavy and discouraging. Yet Jesus reminds us: God is able. And His call to us is clear.

1. Have Faith in God

Faith is not wishful thinking; it is rooted in who God is. When George Müller cared for thousands of orphans in 19th-century England, he never asked for donations—he prayed. Morning after morning, food appeared on the table. Faith trusts God’s promises even when everything looks impossible.

2. Speak to the Mountain

Jesus said: “Say to this mountain…” Faith is not silent. Just as the Israelites shouted at the walls of Jericho and saw them fall, we too must speak words of life. Instead of saying, “The Church is dying,” we must declare, “The Church will rise again, because Jesus is Lord.”

3. Believe and Pray

Jehoshaphat’s army in 2 Chronicles 20 didn’t win with swords but through prayer and praise. The same is true for us. Revival will not come through human strategies alone but through united prayer.

4. Forgive and Unite

Jesus also linked prayer with forgiveness. Unforgiveness, division, and bitterness can choke revival. If the Church in the UK is to rise again, it must be marked by unity and love.

A Call to the UK Church

Friends, this message is not just for one parish—it is for the Church across our land. The tide of secularism, unbelief, and decline may feel unstoppable, but our God is greater. What if believers across the UK came together in faith, fasting, and prayer? What if we declared with one voice that our God can still move mountains?

Revival is not a dream of the past—it is God’s promise when His people humble themselves and seek His face (2 Chronicles 7:14). The UK does not need a new strategy—it needs a renewed faith in the living God.

This is our rallying call: Have faith in God. Believe. Pray. Forgive. Unite. If we do, then the God who parted the Red Sea, who brought down Jericho’s walls, who raised Jesus from the dead, will turn the tide. And we will see people in their thousands coming back to Christ and His Church.

Mountains still move. Let us believe again.
