ABOUT US

Welcome to Cardonald Parish Church, a place of worship, fellowship, and community in Glasgow. Our journey of faith began on 26th January 1887 with a meeting in the School Room at Cardonald, laying the foundation for a vibrant congregation that continues to thrive over a century later.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to be a welcoming place for all, to spread love and faith, and to serve the community with compassion and kindness as taught by Jesus.

WHAT WE DO

We provide a place for spiritual growth through worship services, prayer meets, Bible studies, and community events. We also offer support and care for those in need within the community.

OUR COMMUNITY

Our community is built on the values of togetherness, support, and love. We come together to celebrate, learn, and support each other in times of joy and hardship.

OUR HISTORY

Cardonald Parish Church was officially established on 14th July 1890, becoming a beacon of faith in the growing community. The church building, dedicated on 17th February 1889, was designed by architect P. McGregor Chalmers and modeled after the Corrie church building. Over the years, it has grown from a single gable structure into the iconic triple-gabled red sandstone landmark that stands today on Paisley Road West.

From its origins serving the rural farming community, Cardonald Parish Church has evolved into the heart of a bustling parish, home to thousands of residents and welcoming countless visitors who pass through daily.

OUR MISSION

At Cardonald Parish Church, our mission is rooted in faith and guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to being a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals and families can come together to worship, grow spiritually, and experience God’s love.

Through our services, outreach programs, and fellowship activities, we strive to bring the Gospel to life within our parish and beyond. Whether it’s through providing spiritual guidance, supporting those in need, or creating spaces for connection and reflection, we aim to be a source of hope and inspiration.

Regardless of the changes time has brought to our community, our purpose remains steadfast: to shine Christ’s light in the world and nurture a deep, personal relationship with God among our congregation and the wider community.

Highlights include the Christ the Good Shepherd window, crafted in 1889, the Porch Windows, restored in 1982, and the poignant Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs panels.
