The Cardonald Craft Club started about 1992. It met until December 2007 in the Church Hall of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Social Outings

We always enjoy our Christmas Party held at a local venue and for the past two years have enjoyed a meal celebrating Chinese New Year at a local restaurant - when the highlight of the evening is watching a performance of the Lion Dance.

General Activities

Different crafts
Multi-tasking

Meetings are on a Wednesday afternoon in the Session Room at Cardonald Parish Church from 1:30 p.m. till 3:30 p.m. We enjoy many varied crafts and are keen to learn new ones. If anyone wants to learn how to do a new craft, there is usually someone there who is willing to show them how to do it.

Co-operation

The ladies knit, crochet, do decoupage, cross-stitch and tapestry. Some have tried lace making and tatting. We have had a demonstration from one of our members of iris folding and most of us produced a lovely card with a butterfly on the front. We hope to hold another demonstration of marbling and one of embossing.

We also enjoy a chat and it's amazing how much local information we pick up about local events.

A Poetic Invitation

Laughter
In Stitches?

Do you like to crochet or knit?

In good company like to sit?

As you work, do you like to chat

Of current affairs, this and that?

Well, come along to our club to see

If it would suit you down to a 'T'.

There are some who do quilling:

To show you how, they are willing.

If you prefer card-making art

At stamping you would like to take part,

There's decoupage and folding paper:

It really is a joyous caper!

Embroidery, tapestry, cross-stitch too -

There must be something just for you.

So come along Wednesdays, half past one

You'd be welcome to join in the fun.
